It was by far the best extension training I have attended. I really appreciated and valued how many times we had to put in a row and take it out. The repetition is extremely helpful and I have never experienced that at any other training. You can tell that Ashlee created this method with the intention of passion for the craft. You can tell by the way she teaches it and takes the time to help you understand no matter how ridiculous the question may feel. When taking the Luna method class I not only was learning the methodology but being taught integrity within the method and respect for the time and intention Ashlee took herself to make this method as versatile and intentional as it is. In my opinion Unless you learn this method from Ashlee you will never understand or respect it as much as it deserves. I could take this class over and over again and come out learning just as much as I did the first time!

The Luna Method is built on equal tension & compression, bone-structured placement, and distributed load- creating safer installs, happier clients and longer-lasting results.
EQUAL TENSION & COMPRESSION
We balance opposing forces tension and compression, to support the extension without pulling on the scalp. The result?
No torque
No scalp strain
No tension-based hair loss
Proper force distribution prevents follicle trauma. Your client’s head shape supports the weight-not the beads.
Physics: The forces at play- tension (pulling) and compression (pressing)- are carefully balanced to ensure they don’t exceed the hair’s natural tolerance. This precise balance avoids overloading the hair follicles and distributes the weight evenly across the scalp.
ZERO MANUAL TENSION
The Luna Method not only avoids the use of harsh adhesives or a plethora of beads that add bulk, can cause damage or irritate the scalp. Instead, it focuses on creating a gentle, long-lasting hold through carefully controlled tension and placement when properly installed, we love to say, “our beadwork is zero tension”- meaning zero manual tension.
Unlike adhesive methods or bead-stacking installs, Luna uses zero manual tension during application.
With a 5-20 point contact system, you’ll achieve seamless installs that look and feel like real hair because they move like it too.
Biomechanics: The application process minimizes the risk of stress on the hair follicles, ensuring the client’s natural hair isn’t compromised. With no adhesive and minimal beads pulling on the hair, the shape of our bead sections in conjunction with the additional properties of the Luna Method assure that the natural growth pattern is preserved.
BONE PLACEMENT
The Luna method uses a consistent distribution of weight along the natural hair, which ensures that no one strand carries more load than it should. This principle works similarly to how a bridge is built, weight is evenly spread across the structure to avoid excessive pressure in any one area. We do this by not only the shape, hand positioning and tension placed upon the bead section but with a primary focus on the bone placement in which a row is established. Utilizing the bones of the head to support the weight of the row and not utilizing bead work as anchors establishes consistent weight distribution.
Physics: This equal distribution minimizes the risk of follicle damage or traction alopecia, which can happen when extensions are too heavy and/or too tight in certain areas.
LOW-MAINTENANCE LONGEVITY
Thanks to the physics of tension and compression working in harmony, the Luna Method allows extensions to remain secure for longer periods of time with minimal maintenance. This reduces the need for frequent reapplication, allowing the natural hair to grow without stress. The majority of clients bode well with 8+ week row adjustments, though due to installation quality, home care and biology this. can vary.
Kinetics: The natural movement of the hair, combined with the balanced installation, allows extensions to move as naturally as the client’s own hair, preventing tangling or uncomfortable pulling that would typically necessitate frequent maintenance.
CUSTOMIZATION
The Luna Method is adaptable for different hair types, from fine to coarse hair. The science behind this lies in understanding that different hair textures require different amounts of tension and compression to ensure secure and natural results.
Material Science: Different hair types react differently to tension and compression forces, so by adjusting these forces to the needs of the individual client’s hair, the method ensures longevity and comfort.
COMFORTABLE & FOLLICLE SAFE
The precision of the method when customized and applied properly, ensures that no part of the hair extension is excessively pulling on the scalp, leading to discomfort or damage. This is crucial for long-term wear, as consistent pressure on the scalp can lead to irritation or hair thinning over time.
Clients can wear their hair up on Day 1-no pinching, pulling, or “getting used to it.”
Anatomy: By avoiding unnecessary pressure on the scalp and hair follicles, the Luna Method promotes healthier hair growth, reducing the risk of scalp irritation or follicle damage.
